FIN
While the ceremony was held on Saturday, the grades came back today...so it's official.
I have a Bachelor of Journalism with an emphasis in Broadcast News from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Cool People Visit Missouri
Therefore, Blair and Karla are cool. Very, very cool. Thanks for coming down last weekend, kids.

So Now Then
I no longer carry around my Mizzou student ID. I can't check "MU Student" on the attendance pad at church anymore. And, whenever I fill out one of those forms that asks for demographic info, instead of marking "Some College" I can mark "4-Year College Degree."

Crazy.

Birthday Thanks
Roll call of thanks for people who showed up to the Dirty Double Deuce birthday bash last night at the 'Berg:
PRESENT: Arnet, Becker, E. Brooks, Chiu, Fink, Fiscus, Garnas, Graham, Hu, Lasure, Moore, Patti, Rust, Solakian, Stumpf, Terpstra, Tribble.
ABSENT WITH LEAVE: Coons, those not in town
ABSENT WITHOUT LEAVE: Everyone else. You know who you are.
NOT INVITED: Scary people who give me noogies at the KOMU desk.

Lobbying Pays
The efforts of both OSTW readers, one Mr. Purschwitz and one Ms. Gannon, and immense personal guilt for not updating yet this month, will now result in yet another massive dumpage onto the World's Widest Web from yours truly. So, here goes...

WEdnesday Returns
NBC has renewed Ed for a fourth season--and is putting it back in its righteous wEdnesday time slot. Despite the fact that Ed and Carol are now together, and Carol no longer has any sort of a soft spot in this heart, I'm kind of glad that I'll still have friends to keep me company on the little glowing box.

That, and I'll have something to talk about with Clark. You know, cause it's always so awkward when we're together. And stuff.

Confidential To One Ms. Bondioli
Is it raining outside? No? Just checking.

Super Triple Action Doppler Storm Tracker Chaser Week
For those of you reading OSTW from the far reaches of this fine nation, we here in Missouri (Official State Motto: "Proscella Volva Acomminatus Norma, Domus Mobilus Evadere" (Get Out Of The Trailer, Norma, There's A Twister A-Comin)) had a bit of a tornado outbreak on our hands last week. For those of you reading OSTW from within said state, you can come out of the basement now. I found myself under four tornado warnings this past week, one of which occured whilst at the State Capitol.

What happens when the seat of state government finds itself in the sights of an F5? It gets its seat down to the basement, that's what.

So, I spent (lost?) 1.5 hours of my life in the Capitol basement while the Gov photo-opped with the school groups, the light-gov lended his cell phone to panicky fourth graders, and Sen. Dolan went into his Matt "Van Down By The River" Foley impersonation.

Sen. Jacob was grumpy, but this behavior is standard.

MSA Crusades
In my next attempt to reform Mizzou's student government, Letters of Marque will be issued to McDavid Hall, which will be allowed to sack A022 Brady and keep 50% of the booty.

The (winning!) lawsuit will have to do for now.

Closing Time
I thought--briefly--about some kind of sappy Mizzou retrospective, now that graduation is but four days away. But the looming of one final paper, final grades, and the fact that I'm not actually leaving Columbia yet have dampened that drive. Check back in late July for a sobby, wheezy look back at OSTW's Big Wide World of Boone County--A Recap.

Wake Me Up (Before You Go-Go)
There are few better ways with which to realize one's smallness and unimportance in the grand schema of life than going to the Wal-Mart Supercenter at 3:45 a.m. for household cleaning supplies and light bulbs during the middle of finals week. The situation is made even more dismal when George Michael and The Other Guy From Wham! sing Wham!'s greatest hit during the middle of said visit--and the employees sing along.

Pray for C-minuses or better. They're my ticket out of here. Peace.
