I'm in the sky tonight
There I can keep by your side
Watching the wide world riot and hiding out
I'll be coming home next year

Into the sun we climb
Climbing our wings will burn white
Everyone strapped in tight
We'll ride it out
I'll be coming home next year

Come on get on get on
Take it till life runs out
No one can find us now
Living with our heads underground

Into the night we shine
Lighting the way we glide by
Catch me if I get too high
If I come down
I'll be coming home next year

I'm in the sky tonight
There I can keep by your side
Watching the whole world wind around and round
I'll be coming home next year

Come on get on get on
Take it till life runs out
No one can find us now
Living with our heads underground

I'll be coming home next year
I'll be coming home next year
Everything's alright up here
If I come down
I'll be coming home next year

Say good-bye now
Say good-bye now
Say good-bye now
Say good-bye now

I'll be coming home next year
I'll be coming home next year
Everything's alright up here
If I come down
I'll be coming home next year

What an odd night
MINNEAPOLIS -- So I'm sitting in the aisle, bulkhead, exit row seat on the redeye from LAX to MSP this morning. I've got my left leg making a 90 degree angle and my right leg crossed over it. I'm half asleep--considering that it's maybe 2 a.m. PST/4 a.m. CST--and the next thing I know, there's a large black man sort of crumpled over my foot and leg, with his head facing the exit door. He's there for maybe 15 or 20 seconds, with his eyes closed--almost as if he's praying--then gets up and says "Sorry about that." I'm thinking he must have run into my foot, or the armrest, or something, and that's just where he ended up. Yep. Must have been.

Also, one of the FAs working our section disclosed that she's "basically deaf and has been working for Northwest for 33 years." Aren't flight attendants supposed to be able to HEAR?

Also, landing in Minneapolis at 6:00 a.m. in December is what arriving at the North Pole must feel like. It's dark, everything is blanketed in six inches of snow, and there are lit up Christmas trees everywhere. Ho ho ho.

What an odd, odd night.

So, now I'm in Minneapolis, at Starbucks (where else), and I have 12 hours and 13 minutes to write a 15 page paper for K*. Then the semester will be over! And, Tuttle's going to drop by before it's all over.

Let's hope this turns into a good, good day.

And you thought you were going to get a post without a funny

In honor of today's Fed State final and my impending return to Milwaukee
The greatest Professor McG quote of all time:
"The police were suspicious because there were Californians in Milwaukee in the dead of winter. It’s one thing to be fond of bratwurst, but to find a Californian in Milwaukee in the dead of winter means they must be doing drugs."

But first: Minneapolis.

Put your hand in the air, and take the vow
I know I can
Be what I wanna be
If I work hard at it
I'll be where I wanna be

That's the theme song for the next 13 hours of studying and the following three hours of examage.

No word yet on whether I will have to resort to ridiculous mnemonic devices. Remember "four six ten ten, good buddy?"

Just change "Swanson" and "math" to "Knaplund" and "wills and trusts"

For Jill, the Far Side connoisseur

Bloggage
Apologies for the lack of a Brookfield or Milwaukee datelined post over the turkey holiday. It was really a whirlwind tour of the Jewelled City of the North, mostly because of 12 overnight hours I had to spend at the 50,000 watt love pump. But it snowed! And it was cold! And I had pumpkin pie! (But not mom's pumpkin pie. That's delayed this year until Christmas break.)

Only three days until ACBC!
